The pig biosecurity management planning toolkit supports pig owners and producers to safeguard their pigs against the biosecurity threats posed by unwanted pests and diseases.
On this page, you will find the tools to develop your own biosecurity management plan and support the implementation of simple, everyday biosecurity practices to protect the health of your pigs.
Resources are available for all levels of pig keeping and production:
small-scale e.g. pet pigs and hobby farmers
medium-scale e.g. farm stays and smaller commercial operations
large-scale e.g. large commercial operations that may be quality assured (APIQ accredited).
For APIQ accredited producers, refer to the APIQ site for more information on APIQ requirements and standards.
An EAD outbreak is the single biggest threat to the Australian pork industry.
Pig owners and producers need to remain vigilant — any unusual signs of disease or death should be reported to your veterinarian or government agency via the national EAD Hotline on 1800 675 888.
